Writers in prison

28 March 2013

A network of 19 writers is holding writing workshops and reading groups in some of England's toughest prisons. The writers are overseen by the new Writers in Prison Foundation, a charity formally known as the Writers in Prison Network. Does Dyslexikit Limited approve? We most certainly do! There are almost 90,000 people in prison today and many have little or no literacy skill. If they can be supported to achieve basic literacy or encouraged to tell or write their stories they will surely improve their self-esteem and leave prison less likely to reoffend and more likely to secure employment.
